Phase 7: Develop Feedback Tools
The goal of this phase is to develop a tool that can be used to provide feedback to your students.
Phase 7 Guidance
Providing high quality, actionable feedback is essential to support students' three dimensional sensemaking. There are multiple tools to use for this purpose that address and signal different priorities. While not an exhaustive set of examples, we offer four options that present a range of ways to recognize aspects of students' 3D performance and provide feedback.
Option 1: Focuses on key components of each prompt and how they are aligned with the 3Ds and supports holistic performance feedback.
Option 2: Most similar to a rubric with different levels of performance but lacking explicit quantitative ratings.
Option 3: Foregrounds feedback related to students’ use of the SEPs and CCCs with the DCI.
Option 4: General strengths and questions for growths, while providing opportunities for students to share their thoughts as well.
Each option begins with identifying the targeted 3D elements and how the prompts provide evidence of students’ understanding.
